A tiny session…

January 27, 2012

Once in a while for baby collection clients I will add on a tiny session so that we don’t miss a certain milestone.  Little baby C was so sweet and I do believe was thoroughly exhausted after her 15 minutes in the limelight.  After all it is hard work being a model.  It was so great seeing you again Stacie, your babies are gorgeous.  I can’t wait to see the boys again.

Enjoy, Lori

Everyone knows that I believe that bigger is better most of the time when it comes to wall art.  Well…me and a lot of other artists, interior designers, graphic designers etc.  (;  The trend of shelves and art has always  been a staple look that works, but take a look at this!  The hallway comes across grand and celebrated do to the unexpected placement and drama of the pieces.  Now imagine this with your family’s stunning portraits in acrylic (oooooh) or float mounts as the entry to your kitchen or kids bedrooms!  Perfect.

Grey on White

January 18, 2012

Everyone knows that my favorite color is grey.  It feels cool, clean and sophisticated and looks amazing when photographed.  How gorgeous is this family session!  Such well behaved, loving little ones.  And I of course can’t resist twins, they always make for a more interesting and of course adorable presentation.  Well that and I was able to hug and love on them during the session.  Such a great time.

This is stunningly beautiful!  This would be gorgeous in a minimalist home on any wall.  Or for those of you with a few more homey details this would be dramatic on the focal wall in the babies nursery or playroom.  Can you imagine how special your little ones would feel when they see themselves on such a display!

And the winners are…

December 1, 2011

I am so happy to have had the chance to photograph such a sweet  baby.  This little girl was the winner of a drawing that we held at The Baby Shower event at Little Sprout Children’s Boutique!   That is such a fun way to throw a baby shower by the way.  They do a gorgeous job of setting it up, and of course the shopping is made easy too.   If you haven’t made it their yet they are on Oakland Drive in Kalamazoo…support a local business and check them out.  (;

A quick peek…

November 23, 2011

We had a fun little play date/photo shoot with friends today at the Reedy Home.  My guys always get so excited when we have company, so a wild time was had by all.  But surprisingly enough I now have a quiet moment and actually have one baby down for a nap and the two other little guys at a friends house.  So Alyssa and Craig you get your sneak peek very early.  Love you guys…and Happy Thanksgiving!

This hands down is one of my favorite ways to hang a large art piece. You feel the art in a whole new way.  The details take on a new importance. I don’t think you could ever get tired of looking at such an adorable glance.

Canvas is definitely my medium of choice with this layout, it feels grand enough to pull off the transition from canvas to canvas.

I can’t get enough of a story sometimes, I want to feel every emotion, personality…the full moment.   This art layout is a perfectly simplistic inspiration for how that can be pulled off.  The presence on the wall is drama, but the cleanliness of the layout keeps it from being to busy.  This would also be a charming collage laid out on one canvas or metal piece…

I am very honored to be chosen to photograph these two amazing little babies.  Not only because they are special and gorgeous but because their Mommy is a fellow photographer.  I hope that you love your sneak peek Stephanie!
